St. Nicholas’ National School is a co-educational, three teacher national school with two support teachers. The school is located on the outskirts of Adare on the banks of the River Maigue, opposite the gates of Adare Manor. The Countess of Dunraven is the school’s patron. The school has a Church of Ireland ethos but welcomes children of all religions and none.
We are presently accepting enrolments for the school year 2025/2026, please contact the school for further details.
The school has excellent facilities which include indoor and outdoor P.E. facilities, a spacious play area, support classrooms, interactive boards in all classrooms and a suite of computer laptops and Ipads.We offer a broad and varied curriculum plus extra-curricular activities.
The school is served by a number of school buses and applications are made through the school transport website.
After school care available locally giving parents flexible drop-off and pick-up times.

The school will commence accepting applications for admission on: 1st Oct. 2024
The school shall cease accepting applications for admission on: 1st March 2025
Number of places being made available in 2025/2026 in Junior Infants is 10.
